Ian Nikkel's Pick Six: NFL Divisional Playoff Edition
Wild Card Weekend was actually rather mild this time around
Hello everyone, I hope you had a fantastic week.
There’s not a whole lot of football games left until August so we have to enjoy them while we still can!
I had an ok week last week picks wise, went 6-7. Our record is now 63-53. Not shabby by any means. I have six picks and four props for you all. Let’s party.
Note: All odds are from DraftKings
Texans at Ravens (Saturday at 3:30 p.m. CT on ABC/ESPN/ESPN+)
The picks: Texans +9.5 & Texans-Ravens under 43.5 points
The props: None
No props. Just a weird feeling of deja vu where an AFC South team came into Baltimore facing the number one seed Ravens with likely MVP Lamar Jackson. Derrick Henry single handedly beat the Ravens. Can CJ Stroud to the same? Maybe, but I also think it’ll be a low scoring affair as well. We’ll take the under as well. I don’t like taking unders but the under is 4-0 when Lamar Jackson is the starting QB. So we’re gonna roll with that too.
Packers at 49ers (Saturday at 7:15 p.m. CT on FOX)
The picks: None
The props: Deebo Samuel anytime TD (+100) & George Kittle anytime TD (+110)
No picks because I don’t know if I can pick against the Packers again after last week. But I will take Deebo Samuel anytime touchdown because he feels due and George Kittle anytime touchdown because I like George Kittle.
Buccaneers at Lions (Sunday at 2 p.m. CT on NBC/Peacock)
The picks: Buccaneers +6.5 and Over 49.5 points
The props: Cade Otton over 30.5 receiving yards
This game is the fun one to me. Two teams that don’t normally make the playoffs meet in the Motor City on Sunday. I’ll be rooting for points because both offenses are very very solid. For the sake of closeness, I’ll take Buccaneers +6.5 and then Baker Mayfield loves his tight end, so I’ll take Otton over on receiving yards.
Chiefs at Bills (Sunday at 5:30 p.m. CT on CBS/Paramount+)
The picks: Bills -2.5 and Over 45.5 points
The props: Isiah Pacheco anytime TD (+115)
This is the main event of the divisional playoffs. Bills-Chiefs, AFC Championship spot on the line, this is Patrick Mahomes first true road playoff game. Buffalo is on a hot streak, I think we see another shootout so I’ll take the over. It worked last time, let’s do it again… Isiah Pacheco anytime touchdown as well. The key for both teams will be running the football, I think we see Kansas City try to establish the run early and often.
